Develop Systems for Collaboration
Impact Team Agenda
Understand what resources are available across school district, city, and community partners, map those resources into tiers, determine how to best trigger referrals, and then implement the newly designed systems.
Identify and reach out to organizations that have already done YVP resource-CBO mapping exercises. Cconsolidate and update those resources.
Establish an agreed upon set of tiers and a method for assigning specific services to the tiers, and then apply that method to the identified resources.
Integrate the content from this work into other district-efforts to set up data systems to support the intervention process
Pilot these new systems and processes, iterate and refine, and then determine timeline for larger scale rollout and strategies for keeping information updated.
Current Focus
We have developed a mapping of available citywide resources (here) and are currently evaluating the best strategies for training school-based staff on how to best connect families with these resources. There may be opportunities for families to tap into city or district funding streams to access services, so we are carefully evaluating the best referral approaches to make sure that these chances are not missed.
We are also working to roll out intervention software at DPS that will allow us to better manage the referral process and capture data that will help us understand the effectiveness of interventions provided. We hope to have an initial version of this available at the start of the new school year in August 2025.
